Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI)

DALI stands for Digital Addressable Lighting Interface and is a standardized communication protocol for controlling lighting. It is widely used in professional and commercial lighting systems, such as in offices, warehouses, shops, and other large spaces. DALI allows individual lamps or groups of lamps to be digitally addressed and controlled.

DALI allows lighting components such as lamps, dimmers, and sensors to communicate with each other, enabling advanced lighting management. The system enables flexible and energy-efficient lighting settings, such as:

  • Dimmability : Adjusting the brightness of the lighting based on needs, for example depending on the time of day or the presence of people in a room.
  • System integration : DALI can be integrated with other systems such as HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), to improve efficiency and comfort.
  • Lighting Grouping : It allows you to control groups of lights, such as in a meeting room or open plan office, with one command.
  • Energy management : Because it is possible to adjust the lighting precisely to the needs, DALI contributes to energy savings.

A key advantage of DALI is that it's an open standard , meaning equipment from different manufacturers can be compatible as long as it supports DALI. This provides greater flexibility and cost-effective solutions for lighting installations.
