A bulb is an informal term for a light bulb or lamp in general. The term is often used to refer to the traditional bulb shaped like a globe or egg, which is colloquially called a "pear" because of its round shape.
Characteristics of a light bulb:
- Shape : It often has the classic, spherical appearance, which is why it is called a "pear."
- Use : It is a lamp that uses electricity to heat a filament, causing it to emit light.
- Types : Nowadays, the terms "bulb" or "incandescent" can also be used for modern technologies such as LED lamps or halogen lamps which have a similar shape, but with a much higher efficiency and a longer life.
Although the term "bulb" was originally associated with the traditional incandescent light bulb, it is now also used for other similarly shaped lamps, such as LED bulbs .
