Types of T8 LED tubes

πŸ”Ή Retrofit T8 LED tube – Works in existing fixtures with a starter (conventional ballast).
πŸ”ΉDirectly on 230V T8 LED tube – Bypass the ballast and connect directly to mains power.
πŸ”Ή T8 LED tube for electronic ballast – Works with an electronic ballast (ECG) .


Installing a T8 LED tube

1️⃣ For conventional fluorescent lamps (with starter)

  • Replace the old fluorescent tube.
  • Replace the fluorescent starter with an LED starter (usually included).
  • Finished!

2️⃣ For luminaires with electronic ballast (without starter)

  • Check whether the LED tube is compatible with the EVSA.
  • If yes: replace immediately.
  • If not: Remove VSA and connect to 230V .

3️⃣ Directly on 230V

  • Remove the ballast and connect the LED tube directly to L (live) and N (neutral) .
